In 2019, we had a great discussion on our first ever NRC real estate tokenization and attracted real estate owners, CRE blockchain company founders and other related audiences or real estate blockchain fans. This year, as blockchain finally took the spotlight from cryptocurrency, it will be a great time to continue our discussion on the STO market and how blockchain could become a solution to help improve the real estate industry.

Donald Carey | Founder & CEO @ BLOKK

Donald Carey is a Principal at BLOKK Data. BLOKK has been focused on the transfer of property data between Local Governments and the private sector. Data management and transfer is a critical step in the application of Blockchain Technology entering the Real Estate sector.

Mr Carey was an investment banker at Goldman Sachs and CS First Boston. He is credited with developing the forward delivery market in Municipal Bonds. As manager of the Municipal Capital Markets group Mr Carey was a leader in the commitment to technology for better transparency and pricing.

Mr Carey has been a business development executive in Title Insurance for the past 15 years at First American and Kensington Vanguard. Mr Carey is also active in development projects in NYS. He serves on the Board of LEAP Transportation.


Merri Silverstein | Angel Investor

Merri Silverstein is an Angel Investor who has studied and invested in many start ups. Her drive has brought her to also join a V.C. fund, advise start ups, mentor women in stem and has a great understanding of our present fiat and the future of digital currency. With two degrees in the sciences, Merri’s passion is captivating and she is looking forward to bringing more women into Blockchain through various sources of media. She has written articles on Crypto, been interviewed live and interviewed over 20 start ups for a TV pilot. She is passionate to see changes for a better world.


Patrick O’ Meara | CEO @ Inveniam Capital

Patrick O’Meara is the Chairman and CEO of Inveniam Capital Partners, a finance and technology firm. He leads the business development efforts and is product manager for the firm’s proprietary and patent-pending transaction platform – Inveniam IO. Inveniam IO is a powerful SaaS technology platform that assists financial professionals in digitizing and modeling securities as data not code. Inveniam Capital Partners lays the foundation for digitizing Private Markets at the intersection of Capital Markets, Blockchain and Big Data.

Mr. O’Meara began his career at Raymond James and Bear Stearns & Co before founding his own financial advisory firm and building it into a niche leader for more than 14 years and employing over 80 finance professionals. As founder and President of O’Meara, Ferguson, Whelan & Conway he ran the firm’s advisory services; leading the structuring and execution of transactions for 42 Catholic dioceses and dozens of other faith-based, donation-driven nonprofits in the US. Prior to founding Inveniam Capital, he served as Chief Investment Officer for the University of Mary.

Over the past 20+ years, Mr. O’Meara has been a principal in transactions or advised on:

He has delivered talks in more than 45 states and provinces in the U.S. & Canada and countries around the world including regularly lecturing on the connections between canon and civil law on Church financing, at the Vatican, addressing over 600 economists from five continents and discussing a more robust understanding of risk and the allocation of capital.

He has been profiled in the Wall Street Journal as well as Bloomberg, TIME, The Chicago Tribune, The Bond Buyer, Politico, The National Catholic Register, and many others, and he’s regularly appeared on Fox, CBS, ABC affiliates, EWTN and Catholic Answers Live.

Mr. O’Meara earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Theology from Franciscan University of Steubenville and lives with his family in Michigan.


Corbin Page | Head of Product @ ConsenSys Codefi

Corbin is Head of Product for ConsenSys Codefi, which builds applications for the next-generation of commerce and finance. He also co-founded Meridio, a platform for creating and trading fractional ownership shares in real estate assets and funds. Prior to ConsenSys, Corbin built and launched financial applications for two top hedge funds and led large consulting projects for AIG, Liberty Mutual, and Accenture.


Marc Powers | Partner @ Baker Hostetler

Marc Powers understands the legal, business and regulatory environment surrounding his clients, where for over 30 years he has confidently and creatively acted on behalf of his diverse client base. He is the former national leader of this AMLAW 100 law firm’s Securities Litigation and Regulatory Enforcement practice team, as well as the Hedge Fund Industry practice team.

Marc often acts as offsite General Counsel to emerging and established companies in varied industries, guiding them on their legal issues and strategic decisions to achieve their business, regulatory and compliance goals. Marc also advises clients and writes on regulatory compliance with blockchain technology’s intersection with the federal securities laws, and in forming cryptocurrency investment funds. He has spoken on ICOs and avoiding or defending SEC and class action litigation. He is an active member of the Security Token Working Group of Global Digital Finance, an international body dedicated to the adoption of digital finance through establishment of best practices protocols for capital raising, token offerings, trading and custodying of digital assets. Marc sits on Advisory Boards for Blockchain businesses.

Marc frequently speaks at conferences for the securities, blockchain and hedge fund industries, and appears regularly in the media. He has spoken at SIFMA and MFA Compliance Conferences, and presented at SALT. Marc has also been a featured speaker at programs and webinars involving blockchain technology and digital assets, including “Handling the Evolving Challenges of Digital Assets,” “The Intersection of Blockchain, Securities Regulation and Token Sales,” and “How to Effectively Handle U.S. Regulatory Investigations and Litigation by the SEC, CFTC and FTC.” He has appeared on Fox Business News, CNBC and Bloomberg Television’s Money Moves. His most recent article published in August 2019 on is entitled “How Blockchain Projects Can Succeed (And Avoid Legal Hassles) In The USA.”

Marc has been ranked by Chambers USA and Legal 500 as one of New York’s leading lawyers in securities and shareholder litigation, and is commended by Chambers “for his impressive handling of high-stakes disputes, in particular in the securities area” (Chambers USA 2015).
